My Week in Quotations

"Did you take an awkward pill?" - CJ on West Wing, 14 January 2006

"I still have to learn how to get a handle on the stress side of it, trying to find a happy medium between caring too much and too little." - Coal train engineer Eric Renstrom, in The New Yorker, 10 October 2005

"Puis, doucement, lentement, il mangea la carotte." - Emile Zola, Le Ventre de Paris, 1874.

What resonated with me in the second quote was more the balance between caring too much and too little.

And the third: "Then, gently, slowly, he ate the carrot."
